Independence Day of Ukraine: SUMMARY!
Hi everyone! It is time to summarise the world's one-day bioblitz in support of Ukraine. Let me say that the statistics are absolutely great!
The project gathers people from 42(!!!) countries: Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Botswana, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Cyprus, Denmark, Ecuador, France including New Caledonia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Poland, Czech Republic, Singapore, Slovakia, Republic of South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Ukraine, UK, USA, Venezuela, and Switzerland.
Well, the exact number of participants is a bit variable since people still add their observations :), but at the moment we have:
378 total members (that is people who decide to participate) of which
277 are active members (that means people who add their observations made on Aug 24).
Eric also tried to determine the project's impact on the world observation activity of this specific day:
10% (!) of the world's observations of the day were linked to the project and
25% (!) of all species found on this day were observed by the project members.

Let me pls say that all of you are TOPs! Especially, people from Ukraine that decide to take pictures of nature on the day of the most intensive bombing of Ukraine in the last few months. Here in Kyiv, I didn't be affected by that bombing, except for annoying air attack sounds, but people from the south and east regions are true heroes to me. Thank you, guys!
