Fungi on the island of Nevis, 2024

My friend Misha last year asked me to record as many fungi as I could on Nevis. I did not do so well back then, but I did better during this year's visit, perhaps because the island was getting more rain than usual at this time of year.

Hey @zitserm -- I thought you might want to look at these. :)

Thanks for tagging me @susanhewitt ! It looks like you had a great trip! It's cool to see some of these cosmopolitan fungi, like the Green-spored parasol and the Flowerpot parasol, which we also see in the streets of New York City.

I have often seen the Green-spored Parasol in Southern California.

Truly cosmopolitan! :) I wouldn't be surprised if you saw Chip cherries in Nevis or California, as well. Have you seen them there?

No. I have not seen Chip Cherries in either location, but I have not gone looking in wood-chipped areas.

@zitserm -- I thought the tiny Orange Bonnet was quite striking!

@susanhewitt The orange mushroom is indeed beautiful, however, I am not familiar with Mycena acicula. Your mushroom has an inrolled margin, which I don't typically associate with Mycena species. Maybe it's something else?

Yes, it sure could be something else -- that was just the CV suggestion.
