For the third anniversary of an observations streak I started in 2019, https://www.inaturalist.org/journal/andreacala/44806-the-streak, I visited the King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas which is a bit like my iNat school. I explored the area uncountable times through all seasons and learned so much here. But unfortunately, this time the one word I had on my mind when I looked around was "Anthropocene." King Gillette was once again turned into a fake winter wonderland, and was ready to accommodate hundreds of cars and visitors. Still, just to hear many birds was so beautiful. Old friends like Nanday Parakeet, Red-shouldered Hawk, Acorn Woodpecker, Bushtit and Nuthatch. Seasonal visitors like American Wigeons. And seeing a Hermit Thrush is always a treat.
This was my 1097th consecutive day of iNat observations. Not bad aye?
