This observation came about because I saw 'something purple' on the other side of a creek bed. Since the sides of the creek were both loose and steep, I decided just to take a few photos without crossing. Back at home, the flowers seemed t be nightshade. It wasn't until last night that I started looking at species. iNat has obscured most Solanum observations, but the Catalina Conservancy lists only Wallace's and ^S. douglasii*. Is that accurate? I feel like I'm making this ID based on inadequate data and awful photos.
Found by a friend, Madison. It looks to be an albino. Any insight would be welcome.
Abundant in shade under Mexican palo verde tree in sandy soil with Logfilia filaginoides, Bromus sp., other grasses, Erodium cicutarium. Nutlet more or less winged with teeth with bristles, toothed along entire edge. Fruit straight to slightly curving throughout.
