On my way home from Giddings, stopped just south of Lexington to check out the landscaped area TXDOT had installed last year in a former roadside picnic table area near a Texas State Historical marker commemorating Indian Camp Branch, a gathering place for Tonkawa Indians named by James Shaw (1808-1879), founder of Lexington.
Found two plants of this invasive species and yanked them both. Roots of one shown in last photo. Two years ago, this was one of my "Yank the Bastard Cabbage!" locations. Did not notice any blooms earlier in year when I stopped at this spot.
