Found on hedgehog mountain. With narrow somewhat close gills, fleshy, somewhat firm. Brownish red spores. Found on ground beneath american beech, maple and some birch, on an old decaying tree.
These bright rust-colored mushrooms appear to be Dermocybe californica. A clump of about 5 were growing by the path in a shady mixed conifer forest on a very cold day, a few days after rain. I did a spore print and found deeper rust colored spores.

growing in a small cluster on rocky soil next to a campsite. very distinctive orange gills.
A Cortinarius sp. turning into a truffle. Found in pine duff.
Boletus aurantiosplendens (“Showy Orange Bolete”) I think
