Canyon bat, Echo canyon
Flying around at 5:30 pm, more than 2 hours before sunset. It was attracted to my car and to me (because of the heat?), occasionally hovering within inches of my legs before I had to shoo it away
05282024 my husband found a dead bat this morning
out-side our home im not sure what kind of bat is this small we are in a residential area
cutie was on the ground still wrapped around a piece of pine straw. i think he fell out of a tree. but he flew away just fine. don’t worry he did not bite me
Came out of Spanish moss in a tree. Mid morning, laid around upset for a minute, then with some coaching it flew off
Found deceased on the floor of a ceramics studio. It likely awoke from hibernating inside over the winter, and either couldn’t find a way out, and/or it succumbed to the dusty conditions and desiccated.
Presumed E. fuscus due to longer, silky back fur and seemingly larger nose than Myotis lucifugus.
