I got interested in birds at a young age in Washington state. My interests broadened in college (at Humboldt State, CA), where I met tons of people excited about all walks of life. Birds are still near and dear to my heart, but nudibranchs, beetles, butterflies, plants, moths, fungi, bats and herps are also pretty excellent. I travel the country (and beyond) doing seasonal bird tech jobs, always looking for a way to dash off to the tropics.
