I am an ethnobotanist with a passion for Indigenous Foods of the Pacific Northwest and broad interests in natural history. I have been studying the region's flora since 1990 and am always learning new plants and still make a lot of mistakes. Thanks to those that correct me! My approach to posting is that it is better to guess to species and be corrected than have an observation sit indefinitely at a broader level of identification (few people search iNat for families or genera). I teach field courses at Western Washington University and enthusiastically participate in Washington Native Plant Society functions.
