Daniel is an assistant professor at the Department of Zoology, Comenius University in Bratislava, specialized in molecular biogeography and taxonomy of Eurasian amphibians and reptiles, especially from the Balkans, Middle East, and Central Asia. He is a member of the taxonomic commission of the Societas Europaea Herpetologica. He has visited more than 50 countries, and regularly returns to the Balkans and different parts of Asia, where he collaborates on several herpetological research projects.
