I'm an enthusiastic amateur - I like getting outdoors and learning about what I see. I grew up in what was then a relatively undeveloped and biologically rich area of coastal NC with parents who shared their knowledge and enjoyment of the local flora and fauna. I'm now living in another area of great biodiversity: the southern Appalachians. I also love to travel and visit local, state, and national parks.
