I am on older guy, originally from Northwestern Germany, grew up in a greenhouse (my parents were running a nursery), studied Biology in West-Berlin when the Wall came down, got a PhD in Physiology and a Habilitation in Zoology, traveled all over Europe, Central America and South-East Asia, spent some years in Brazil (with trips to neighboring countries), came to the Pacific Northwest in the US for a research job, and now work at a college in NYC and live in Central NJ. Observing nature (from molecular biology to cosmology) is what I like to do. I found this iNaturalist.org and I'll try to record some of my humble observations in my environments to better keep track. Thank you to everyone who supports this by confirming (or not) my trials to identify living beings that I post, or in any other way.
