Trees are my special interest. As an amateur dendrologist (and compulsive walker, not to mention the dog) I display all the pitfalls of the autodidact - but I'm never afraid to admit my mistakes. Sometimes, we even spot things the professionals have missed! At the very least, it's an extra pair of eyes, and I consider it my task to help raise community awareness of our tree species, both native and non-native.
