I am a PhD student at Dr. Jason Gibbs's Bee Lab in the Department of Entomology at the University of Manitoba, Canada. My research focuses on a phylogenomic diversity study of prairie bees using targeted enrichment of ultra-conserved elements.

I recently completed my Master's degree in the same lab, where I worked on taxonomic studies of western North American 𝘓𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘮 (𝘏𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘴) and a problematic 𝘓. (𝘚𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘥𝘰𝘨𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢) species complex (Hymenoptera: Halictidae). My research yielded several interesting findings.

I earned my B.Sc. in Agricultural Technology and Management, with a major in Applied and Economic Entomology, from the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.

Utilizing my photography skills, I document these tiny creatures. During my undergraduate studies, I delved into the world of 𝘍𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘴 thrips in Sri Lanka. Subsequently, my focus expanded to include wild bees, stingless bees, chrysomelid beetles, and hymenopteran parasitoids of Sri Lanka. Currently, my primary emphasis lies in the realm of wild bees.
