Wow, there are a lot of bad IDs (and/or cultivated city trees) on this map.

I just discovered that the map on this taxon swap page includes "Casual" observations, so the problem isn't nearly as bad as it looks here. I'll check some of the outliers though.

Given that it is no longer a cypress, maybe we could go back to the common name actually in common use, viz., Alaska yellowcedar.

It's still in the cypress family; true cedars are in the pine family.

(That said, it's probably true that more people call them "yellow-cedar" than "Nootka cypress.")
